Fort Lauderdale Waterfront Mansions Draw Ultra-Luxury Buyers

Fort Lauderdale is emerging as a prime destination for ultra-luxury waterfront real estate, with several high-end mansions featuring private docks now available for purchase. These properties, designed to cater to yacht owners, are drawing significant interest from buyers seeking a seamless integration of boating into their lifestyle.

The city's extensive network of canals, waterways, and private docks provides direct access to the water, a key draw for affluent individuals. "Fort Lauderdale has evolved tremendously at the ultra-luxury level," said Rachel Berg, a real estate agent with Douglas Elliman. "Buyers who once looked exclusively at Miami or Palm Beach are recognizing how much lifestyle, waterfront and privacy they can have here."

One notable listing is the newly constructed, three-story mansion at 733 Middle River Drive, priced at $38.9 million. This 11,838-square-foot home features six bedrooms, an elevator, two putting greens on the third floor, and 108 feet of deepwater frontage with no low bridges, allowing for easy ocean access for large yachts.

Another prominent property is located at 1619 SE 7th Street in the Rio Vista neighborhood. This contemporary seven-bedroom, 11-bath home spans 10,540 square feet and is listed for $34.95 million. The residence boasts significant New River frontage, a 2,000-square-foot rooftop sky lounge, and a four-car garage with a car lift.

In the exclusive gated community of Harbor Beach, a custom contemporary home at 1400 West Lake Drive is on the market for $26.5 million. This 10,400-square-foot property features seven bedrooms, 10.5 baths, multiple pools, and 250 feet of waterfront, including a dock on the north side that does not obstruct eastward water views.

Beyond individual residences, the $2 billion development of the St. Regis Bahia Mar is transforming 40 acres into a luxury waterfront destination. This project, set to include private residences and a St. Regis hotel, will offer extensive dockage for up to 250 boats and superyachts up to 350 feet long. Sales for the resort residences start at $3 million, with private residences beginning at $4.9 million. Completion is anticipated in 2030.

For those seeking a condominium lifestyle with extensive marina amenities, the Indigo penthouse at Pier Sixty-Six Residences is listed for $16 million. This 8,000-square-foot unit is the largest condo residence in Fort Lauderdale and offers direct access to deepwater docks suitable for yachts up to 400 feet. The property, managed by CoralTree Hospitality, also includes a Hyatt Regency hotel, a revolving restaurant, a spa, and various recreational facilities.
