Former 'Scariest House on Rightmove' Garners Unexpected Attention

An old station house in Bleasby, Nottinghamshire, dating back to the 1840s, has been unofficially dubbed the "scariest house on Rightmove" after its listing photos gained viral traction online. The property, which formerly housed railway station masters, has become a subject of fascination due to its dilapidated state and unsettling decor, including a doll left in a bedroom.

Jonathan Way, area manager at Auction House Notts & Derby, attributed much of the online buzz to the "creepy doll" and a pram found in the upstairs rooms. He described the initial viewing as "unsettling," noting that the downstairs was boarded up, dark, and required phone lights for navigation. Way stated the property had been empty for some time, with break-ins leading to the boarding of windows, which did not help the atmosphere.

The unusual listing caught the attention of the "Housing Horrors" TikTok account, known for showcasing peculiar property listings. Despite its "scary" reputation, the house has reportedly remained popular, according to Way. He noted that while quirky properties are not uncommon, this particular station house stands out due to its original brickwork and untouched interior, which has evidently not been updated for many years.

The property is scheduled to go to auction on September 28.
