Former Police Officer Accused of Murder Allegedly Stalked Victim, Court Hears

In the ongoing murder trial of Beau Lamarre-Condon, a former colleague testified that the accused police officer took him on a drive in his Tesla to observe Jesse Baird's boyfriend and made a comment that led the colleague to cease contact with Lamarre-Condon. The court also heard from Jesse Baird's ex-partners and colleagues, who described instances of alleged stalking and controlling behavior by Lamarre-Condon.

Corey-Dean Thorpe, who was in a relationship with Baird for approximately five years, told the court that on November 16, 2023, three months prior to the alleged murders of Baird and Luke Davies, Baird expressed extreme fear of Lamarre-Condon. Thorpe stated that Baird seemed "petrified" and sent him messages during a phone call, repeating "He has a gun." Thorpe also recounted Baird's allegations that Lamarre-Condon had deleted messages from his phone and unfollowed gay men on Instagram. Baird reportedly told Thorpe about waking up to find Lamarre-Condon in his bedroom and alleged that Lamarre-Condon had gone through his phone.

Briony Blackstone, a freelance producer who worked with Baird at Studio 10, testified that Baird had confided in her about Lamarre-Condon's "stalkerish" behavior. Blackstone described Baird as noticeably agitated and not himself, which was unusual for him. She recalled Baird saying he was "casually seeing a guy and his behaviour is a bit stalkerish... I probably like his dog better than him."

Damon Wilson, who had one date with Lamarre-Condon in August 2023, testified that Lamarre-Condon contacted him three months later, after Wilson had begun seeing Baird. Wilson stated that Lamarre-Condon had posted videos and photos on Instagram, implying they were together, which were only shared with his "close friends." On November 18, Lamarre-Condon allegedly sent Wilson a lengthy message accusing Baird of lying, manipulation, and gaslighting. In the message, Lamarre-Condon warned Wilson to "be very careful," claiming it took him a long time to recover from Baird's alleged manipulation and that Baird had previously done the same to other men.

The court also heard from Lamarre-Condon's former police colleague who claimed Lamarre-Condon admitted to creating a fake dating profile to monitor Baird and that Lamarre-Condon drove him through Baird's neighborhood to check for Baird's new partner. These testimonies paint a picture of alleged obsessive behavior by Lamarre-Condon leading up to the deaths of Baird and Davies.
