Former Miss Germany Tatjana Genrich Transitions to Professional Boxing at 33

Tatjana Genrich, who was crowned Miss Germany in 2022, is embarking on a new career in professional boxing at the age of 33. Her professional debut is scheduled for next month in Magdeburg.

Genrich has a history with the sport, having been the Saxony-Anhalt state champion in the flyweight division for amateur boxers between 2007 and 2009. She recently shared that her initial interest in boxing stemmed from a desire to defend herself against bullying experienced in school. This led her to attend a sports school in Halle, Germany, where she was noticed by boxing promoter Ulf Steinforth.

Steinforth reconnected with Genrich years later, after her public profile had grown, and proposed a return to the ring. "Since I sponsor the ring girls at his boxing events, he approached me one day and asked if I wouldn't like to get back in the ring," Genrich stated. "I finally agreed and am now about to make my professional debut."

Promoter SES Boxing has expressed confidence in Genrich's potential, drawing parallels to the successful career of Regina Halmich, a former world champion boxer who also had a modeling career. "Tatjana can follow in Regina Halmich's footsteps. She has all the necessary qualities, an incredible presence, and is extremely ambitious," SES Boxing commented.

To prepare for her upcoming fight on November 14, Genrich, who also manages her own modeling agency with 80 models, is undergoing a rigorous training regimen, dedicating five days a week to gym work. Her coach will be Dirk Dzemski, who previously guided Robert Stieglitz to world champion status.

The supermodel turned boxer still posts regularly to her 44,500 Instagram followers and owns her own modelling agency

Genrich also aims to inspire young women, stating, "I want to be a role model for young women and show them that you can be successful in both your career and sports." Her training incorporates elements such as posture, running, and choreography, preparing her for both boxing competitions and events like fashion shows.

Genrich will be hoping to her journey will inspire a new generation of young women into different sports
