David Roper, a 58-year-old former milkman from Rotherham, has won a £4 million mansion and £250,000 in cash through an Omaze prize draw. The six-bedroom property, located in Surrey, features a heated outdoor pool and a tennis court.
Roper learned of his win at the end of a typical workday. He described the moment as surreal, stating he initially struggled to believe the news. His current residence is a bungalow, making the newly won mansion a significant upgrade. He lives with his wife, Janny, and their four-year-old border collie, Rosie.
“I've never won anything before in my life. I suppose I've just been saving it all up for this,” Roper commented. He added that he delayed his usual trip to the pub by four hours due to disbelief, but plans to celebrate with a round of drinks now that the win is confirmed.
The Omaze prize draw offers luxury homes and cash prizes, with a portion of the proceeds typically supporting charitable causes.
