Former Fox News Producer Jennifer Eckhart's Suicide Linked to 'Private Torment,' Grieving Mother Says
Jennifer Eckhart, 36, was found dead at her Florida home last Saturday, with her mother attributing her death to the toll of a lawsuit against former colleague Ed Henry.
Jennifer Eckhart, a former producer at Fox News, died by suicide last Saturday at her home in Hobe Sound, Florida, according to information shared by her mother. Cynthia Eckhart told the Daily Mail that her daughter, 36, had been experiencing "private torment" that ultimately "destroyed" her.
Eckhart left Fox News in 2020. Her death has been ruled a suicide. Her mother believes that the ordeal involving a civil lawsuit filed against former Fox News anchor Ed Henry, in which Eckhart accused him of rape and which Henry vehemently denied, took a profound toll on her daughter.
Eckhart and Henry had reached a settlement in the lawsuit in June 2025. Henry, who currently works for Newsmax as its head anchor, has not publicly commented on Eckhart's death or the lawsuit. He did not mention Eckhart on his show on Monday.
Cynthia Eckhart described her daughter's struggles, stating that the allegations and subsequent legal proceedings had a significant impact on Jennifer. The mother shared a screenshot of a text exchange from her daughter, which included a message from a man described as being "like a second dad to me," expressing hope and happiness. Eckhart had also posted photos from exclusive Palm Beach hotspots, including The Breakers, last November, where she alluded to overcoming obstacles.
Fox News has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding Eckhart's death or her tenure at the network.
