Former Fox News Producer Jennifer Eckhart Dies by Suicide

Jennifer Eckhart, a former producer at Fox News, died by suicide at her home in Hobe Sound, Florida, on Saturday. She was 36 years old. The cause of death was reported by TMZ, citing law enforcement sources.

Eckhart's death comes six years after she filed a lawsuit in 2020 accusing former Fox News anchor Ed Henry of raping her in a Manhattan hotel in 2017. The lawsuit was settled last year. Henry has consistently denied the allegations, stating that his relationship with Eckhart was consensual.

An investigation into Eckhart's allegations by the network led to Henry's dismissal from Fox News. Following the lawsuit, Henry joined Newsmax as its lead anchor.

In 2021, Eckhart launched a podcast titled "REINVENTED with Jen Eckhart," which she described as her "second act." In an August 2021 interview with Variety, she explained her decision to pursue podcasting, stating she was not beholden to any investor or network. The podcast featured interviews with public figures, celebrities, athletes, and business leaders. The last known episode of the podcast, featuring former Florida State Senator Dave Aronberg, was published in March.

Eckhart's hope for the podcast, she told Variety, was to inspire listeners to reinvent themselves, whether personally or professionally, and to show that it is "never too late to reinvent your life."
