Former Football Executive Pleads Guilty to Offenses Linked to Drugging and Rape

Karl Lindsay, a former chief executive of non-league Taunton Town Football Club, has pleaded guilty to offenses connected to the drugging and rape of a woman by her husband and other individuals. The incidents occurred between 2015 and 2025.

Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court heard that Lindsay's admitted offenses involved the rape of the woman by her husband and others, as well as administering substances to incapacitate her for sexual acts. The woman's husband, in his 60s, has previously admitted to 62 offenses against his wife, including rape.

Lindsay, 56, resigned from his position at the Somerset-based club before facing charges. The victim was present in court with a relative and observed Lindsay as he entered his guilty pleas.

Three other men—Keith Fotheringham, 59, from Dundee, Scotland; Sean Peers, 38, from Stockport; and Graham Brougham, 74, from Northwich—have already admitted to sexually abusing the woman in earlier court proceedings.
