Former child star Raquel Lee has filed a negligence lawsuit against the Walt Disney Company, alleging she was sexually abused by a Disney employee while filming the 2001 Disney Channel movie "The Poof Point." Lee was 14 years old at the time of the incident.

In her complaint, viewed by Page Six, Lee accuses a "middle-aged, male Disney employee" of sexual assault. She claims the employee provided her with alcohol and assaulted her on multiple occasions during filming. The alleged assaults reportedly took place in Salt Lake City, where cast and crew were housed, as well as on a flight back to California.

According to the lawsuit, the employee made inappropriate comments to Lee on set in front of other adults, but Lee alleges no Disney personnel intervened. The complaint also states that production separated Lee from her guardian and failed to provide adequate supervision during that period.

Lee asserts that her behavior and performance deteriorated following the alleged abuse. She claims Disney executives blamed her for her declining performance instead of investigating the allegations and subsequently canceled an upcoming role.

The lawsuit, filed on a Friday, does not specify the monetary damages sought, but Lee is seeking compensation for economic losses, emotional distress, punitive damages, and legal fees.

Lee continued to work with Disney after "The Poof Point," providing voiceover work for "The Proud Family" from 2001 to 2005 and appearing in the Disney+ revival, "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder," from 2022 to 2025. She also appeared in the 2024 docuseries "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV," where she discussed her experiences on Nickelodeon's "The Amanda Show," though she did not address the allegations against Disney at that time.

Attorneys for Lee, Douglas Wigdor and Jane Kim, issued a statement to People, saying, "Over the last decade, countless child actors have come forward to bravely share their experiences of abuse by adults in entertainment. As former government prosecutors, our message to the entertainment industry is simple: This conduct is inexcusable, and those involved — directly or indirectly — must be held accountable."

Disney has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
