Raquel Lee Bolleau, a former child star on Disney Channel, has filed a civil negligence lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company, alleging she was repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted by a now-former Disney employee when she was a teenager. The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, August 21.

Bolleau, 39, claims the incidents occurred while she was 14 years old during the filming of the 2001 Disney Channel movie "The Poof Point." According to the legal complaint obtained by the Daily Mail, the actress alleges that an unnamed, middle-aged male Disney employee supplied her with alcohol and assaulted her multiple times while the cast and crew were in Salt Lake City, as well as during a flight back to California.

Bolleau's attorneys, Douglas Wigdor and Jane Kim, stated in a release to the Daily Mail, "Over the last decade, countless child actors have come forward to bravely share their experiences of abuse by adults in entertainment. As former government prosecutors, our message to Disney and the entertainment industry at large is simple: This conduct is inexcusable, and those involved—directly or indirectly—must be held accountable. We applaud Ms. Bolleau’s courage and look forward to holding Disney accountable for the serious pain it has caused."

The lawsuit further alleges that Disney failed to protect Bolleau, despite signs that something was amiss. The complaint states that the actress was instructed to "bond" and spend time with the employee, and that production separated her from her guardian and lacked appropriate supervision. Bolleau claims the employee would "torment" her on set, making comments such as "last night was so good" in plain view of other adults, yet "no one at Disney intervened."

According to the complaint, adults on the production noticed significant changes in Bolleau's behavior and performance after the alleged abuse began, noting she appeared sick and intoxicated—a stark contrast to her previous diligent demeanor. The lawsuit claims Disney not only failed to investigate but also blamed her for her deteriorating performance, labeling her as "out of control" and canceling a planned role.

Through this lawsuit, Bolleau is seeking damages for alleged economic losses and emotional distress, in addition to punitive damages, attorneys' fees, and other costs. The complaint does not specify the total amount of damages being sought.

After her role in "The Poof Point," Bolleau had a recurring voiceover role as Nubia Gross on Disney's animated series "The Proud Family" from 2001 to 2005, and later returned for the 2022-2026 Disney+ revival, "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder." Her other acting credits include roles on "Real Husbands of Hollywood" and the comedy "Grow House."
