Former Democratic Insider Claims Biden Knew He Couldn't Serve Another Term
Lindy Li, a former Democratic fundraiser, alleges that those close to President Biden, including his family, were aware of his inability to complete another presidential term.
Lindy Li, who identifies as a former Democratic Party insider and fundraiser, has asserted that President Joe Biden's inner circle, including his wife Jill and son Hunter, knew he lacked the capacity to serve another full term.
Li's claims are detailed in her new book, where she recounts her experiences as a fundraiser for the party. She states she was among the first individuals Biden spoke with after a significant debate performance against Donald Trump. "I consoled him," Li told the Daily Mail. "I felt love and pity – actual pity – and that is not the feeling you want to have for your President."
According to Li, this event, which she described as Biden's "embarrassing meltdown," contributed to her decision to abandon the Democratic Party and register as a Republican in December 2024. She said she felt "shameless deception of Americans" by the party.
Li expressed anger that she and others had donated millions of dollars to a cause they believe Democrats knew was a losing effort. After the election results, Li began appearing on television networks to discuss perceived flaws in the then-Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign.
Today, Li describes herself as a "conservative-leaning independent."
Her prior political endeavors include an unsuccessful run for office in Pennsylvania in 2016, when the signatures for her candidacy were found to be invalid. Li had a front-row seat to what she described as the "implosion" of Biden's re-election campaign and the subsequent rise of Vice President Kamala Harris to the ticket.
