Former Coronation Street Star Tracy Shaw Reports Tumors Gone After Breast Cancer Battle
Actress Tracy Shaw announced a positive update on her breast cancer journey, stating that her tumors have been removed following surgery.
Former Coronation Street actress Tracy Shaw shared on Instagram that she is "feeling blessed" after undergoing an operation that successfully removed her tumors. Shaw, 53, who played Maxine Peacock in the ITV soap, was diagnosed with breast cancer in April after discovering a lump.
Shaw had previously revealed that doctors were unable to operate until her tumors had shrunk, a situation she described in a tearful video last month. Despite chemotherapy, the lesions had only changed shape from circular to oval, rather than decreasing in size. However, her most recent surgery has now removed the tumors entirely.
"The tumours are out, they're gone! They're gone! They're gone, they're gone, they're gone!" Shaw announced in a video shared on social media. She expressed gratitude for the support she has received and praised the hospital staff, including the surgeons and nurses involved in her procedure.
Shaw, who played Maxine Peacock on Coronation Street from 1995 to 2003, was diagnosed in April. She has documented her treatment journey, including undergoing her fourth round of chemotherapy last month. While the specific details of her latest surgery were not disclosed, Shaw conveyed her happiness and relief at the positive outcome.

In the UK, over 55,000 new cases are diagnosed each year, and in the US, it affects around 266,000 women each year. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for successful outcomes, with options including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and hormone therapy.
