Former College Quarterback Phil Jurkovec Arrested for Alleged Truck Theft
Ex-Notre Dame, Boston College, and Pitt quarterback faces felony charges after allegedly stealing a box truck from a hospital parking lot.
Former college quarterback Phil Jurkovec has been arrested in Pennsylvania and charged with two felony counts: unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. The charges stem from an alleged incident where Jurkovec is accused of stealing a box truck from the parking lot of Allegheny Health Network's Wexford Hospital.
According to court documents, the truck's owner reported that the vehicle was taken while he was loading items into it. Authorities were able to track the rental truck using GPS, leading them to Cranberry Township where officers found Jurkovec driving the stolen vehicle. He was arrested and is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail on $25,000 bail.
Jurkovec has a notable college football history. He initially enrolled at Notre Dame, playing two seasons before transferring to Boston College for three seasons. He finished his collegiate career at Pitt in 2023. A Pittsburgh native, Jurkovec was named the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Player of the Year in high school in 2018. Over his college career, he completed 58.5 percent of his passes for 6,224 yards, with 43 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. He went unselected in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Jurkovec is scheduled to return to court on September 30. An attorney representing Jurkovec did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
