Former Bears Player Otis Wilson Involved in Scuffle at Soldier Field

Former Chicago Bears linebacker Otis Wilson was reportedly involved in an altercation with a female security worker at Soldier Field on Sunday following the Bears' 23-12 victory over the Jets. Witnesses told the Chicago Sun-Times that the incident began when Wilson, 69, attempted to use an elevator designated for media personnel.

The elevator was reportedly reserved for media members heading to the locker rooms and press conference areas immediately after the game. According to witnesses on the suite level near the press box, Wilson entered the elevator, was subsequently escorted off, and then restrained by multiple individuals during the dispute.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that a softball-sized hole was found in the wall opposite the elevator Wilson had attempted to use, which witnesses stated occurred during the scuffle. The outlet also published a photo of Wilson appearing to be on all fours and looking fatigued after the incident.

Wilson, a member of the 1985 Bears team that won Super Bowl XX, was eventually placed in a wheelchair and taken onto an elevator. He was conscious and alert and did not appear to have any visible injuries, according to the Sun-Times.

The female security worker involved in the incident was not identified. As of three hours after the game concluded, the Chicago Police Department reported that it had not received any calls for service or finalized case reports related to the incident.

Wilson played eight seasons with the Bears and one with the Raiders before retiring after the 1989 season. He was a first-round pick and earned a Pro Bowl selection and Second-team All-Pro honors during the Bears' 1985 championship season.
