Philip Foster, a former actor known for his role in the soap opera "Brookside," has been arrested in Spain. Foster was sought in connection with a fraud scheme that targeted aspiring models in the United Kingdom.

An investigation by the National Trading Standards (NTS) uncovered a network of sham agencies and photography studios operated by Foster and his associates across England, including in London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Coventry, and Nottingham. The scheme, which lasted for six years, lured victims through social media and local advertising campaigns by promising modeling opportunities.

Prospective models were informed they had potential after responding to photographic studio advertisements. They were then pressured to purchase expensive portfolio photographs from the studio as a prerequisite for joining an agency. Some victims resorted to credit deals or high-interest payday loans to cover these upfront costs. The photographs provided were often of poor quality and did not lead to professional modeling work or payment for the aspiring models.

Investigators found that Foster used his share of the proceeds to acquire luxury items, including high-end watches and cars. Many victims reported experiencing significant financial and emotional distress, feeling humiliated and betrayed by the fraudulent operation.

Last year, Philip Foster was already serving a prison sentence for conspiracy to defraud, according to reports.
