Footballer Ollie Watkins' Wife Shares Update on Settling into Saudi Arabia

Ollie Watkins' wife, Ellie, has shared an update on their family's adjustment to life in Saudi Arabia, stating that while the move has been demanding, "everything's finally coming together." The couple, both 30, relocated to Riyadh in September after the footballer's transfer from Aston Villa to Al-Hilal, accompanied by their two young children, Amara, five, and Marley, three.

Ellie admitted that juggling the international move and motherhood had been "a lot," but expressed that their new life is beginning to feel settled. She shared on Instagram that the past three weeks involved a cycle of "cleaning, organising, furniture shopping repeat." However, she posted a photo of their stylish living room, adding, "Everything's finally coming together and we're so happy in our new home."

The children have reportedly settled into school and are enjoying their time together, contributing to a feeling of increased quality family time. This marks a significant adjustment from earlier challenges, as Ellie had previously revealed that the children's school start was delayed, complicating her efforts to entertain them while managing other tasks.

In late August, Ellie had expressed her emotional state regarding the move, describing it as bittersweet. She noted that the family had spent six years at Aston Villa, experiencing significant life events and building a life with friends. "I loved my life there, I settled so well and made the most amazing friends," she said, tearing up while reflecting on leaving that chapter behind.

Despite her initial emotional response, she also conveyed excitement for a change of scenery and the potential for the children to have a positive experience. "I think it's going to be amazing for the kids and I think they are going to have the best time ever," she stated. She also acknowledged feeling nervous but drew parallels to her feelings when moving to Birmingham, expressing optimism for their new life in Saudi Arabia.

Ellie also posted photos documenting cherished memories from their time at Aston Villa, expressing gratitude for the friendships made and the life they built there. She highlighted the significance of supporting Ollie's career, witnessing his achievements, and appreciating his character throughout his progression. She concluded by acknowledging the end of a significant chapter and the beginning of a new adventure.
