Floyd Mayweather expressed his admiration for Donald Trump at a Republican campaign rally in Bullhead City, Arizona, calling him "the best president" the United States has ever had. The undefeated boxer's appearance alongside Trump marked his latest engagement on the campaign trail.
Trump, introducing Mayweather at the rally ahead of the midterm elections, praised the boxer's athleticism and physical appearance. "One of the greatest fighters in boxing history," Trump stated, before commenting on Mayweather's looks, "Look at this guy, he looks so good. Who would believe he's a fighter? He looks so good! He doesn't have a mark!"
Mayweather reciprocated the praise, declaring, "We couldn't have chosen a better president twice than Donald Trump." He began his address by stating, "America is the greatest country in the world." Mayweather recalled representing the U.S. at the 1996 Olympic Games, carrying the "red, white, and blue." He urged the crowd to "stick together, and believing in one another" to keep the country strong.
Mayweather, 49, who has business ties in Arizona, has been an outspoken supporter of Trump, previously calling him the "best president in US history" in an interview with Fox Business. He attended Trump's first inauguration and supported him throughout his first term. Mayweather's policy alignment with Trump includes a strong support for Israel, evidenced by a $1 million donation to United Hatzalah of Israel in 2024.
Mayweather is one of several sports figures to appear with Trump on the campaign trail. Boxing icon Mike Tyson joined Trump at a rally in Syracuse, New York, where he thanked the former president. NBA star Dennis Rodman appeared with Trump in Durant, Oklahoma, while former NFL coach Jon Gruden and influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul were present at a rally in Youngstown, Ohio. Trump also announced his intention to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to MLB legend Roger Clemens during a rally in San Antonio, Texas.
