Chelsea Bonnell, a 30-year-old exotic dancer, has been missing for over a month after she was last seen entering a Publix grocery store in Jupiter, Florida. Her mother, Michelle Clauw, described the disappearance as "unexplainable" and "killing her."
Bonnell traveled to Florida from Clinton Township, Michigan, on May 24, flying on a one-way ticket to seek work at a new club. She was last seen on May 26 entering the Publix store alone and purchasing a small amount of food. She reportedly left the store and headed to the parking lot, but her subsequent whereabouts are unknown.
Clauw stated that Bonnell abruptly shut down her social media accounts and has had no contact with her family for more than a month, which is uncharacteristic of her. "She would call one of us," Clauw told WPLG, expressing concern that her daughter might be with someone preventing her from contacting family.
Adding to the mystery, Bonnell's credit card was used at a Dunkin' store in West Palm Beach, approximately 22 miles from Jupiter, on May 27, the day after she was last seen. It remains unclear who made the transaction.
Clauw traveled to Florida last week in an attempt to retrace her daughter's steps and find leads, but her efforts have been unsuccessful. "This isn’t how my trip should be ending, it should be a joyful homecoming," Clauw wrote in a social media post, describing her heartbreak and growing concerns for her daughter's safety. "Nobody can convince me that after 30 days, she wouldn’t be in contact with anyone in our family, no way. NO WAY!"
Bonnell previously worked as an exotic dancer at Legends nightclub in Detroit. Her family fears that something sinister may have happened due to the prolonged and unusual silence.
