A Florida woman, identified as Jessica Straubel Sanchez and also known by the alias 'Crooked Jess,' was arrested after allegedly absconding with $60 provided by an undercover officer for a drug purchase. The incident occurred in Pinellas County, where the officer was conducting an operation to buy crack cocaine.
According to an arrest affidavit, Straubel Sanchez was given the $60 and entered a nearby residence. After approximately one hour, which the officer deemed an unreasonable amount of time for a drug transaction, she failed to return with the substance. Subsequent searches of the area and attempts to contact her were unsuccessful, as she reportedly did not own a phone. Authorities concluded that Straubel Sanchez had no intention of completing the transaction and had taken the money for her own use.
Police later apprehended the 41-year-old. During the arrest, an officer allegedly discovered fentanyl residue on foil found within her undergarments. She was subsequently charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in addition to theft. Records indicate this was not her first encounter with law enforcement.
