Newly released arrest reports from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in Florida outline a complex network of alleged accomplices who aided fugitive Isabelle Rose Johnson, 38, in evading capture and disposing of a body. Johnson is accused of killing Jason Coulthart, 43, whose remains were discovered buried in a shallow grave on June 25. Coulthart was last seen alive on May 24.
Authorities have described Johnson as a "master manipulator" who employed various disguises and aliases, including "Harley," "Jessica Elaine Bowman," and "Denise," to evade law enforcement. Images of her distinctive tattoos have been released to aid in identification.
Alleged Complicity in Homicide and Concealment
One arrest report details accusations against Johnson's roommate, Bobbie Gean Wagstaff, 31. A witness reportedly told investigators that Johnson killed Coulthart by placing a zip tie around his neck and subsequently covered the body with cement to prevent its disturbance. The witness also stated that Johnson allegedly disposed of Coulthart because he was "aggravating and irritating her" and threatening to interfere with her custody of her children. Wagstaff faces charges of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and possession of methamphetamine.
Assisting in Evasion and Movement
Husband and wife Martin and Sandra Leaverton, of Fort Walton Beach, are also implicated. Arrest reports allege they admitted to providing Johnson with multiple rides after Coulthart's body was discovered and moving her between various locations to avoid apprehension. The couple reportedly attempted to help Johnson leave the state and retrieved her backpacks as she fled from deputies. According to investigators, the Leavertons provided rides, supplies, and false information to law enforcement regarding Johnson's whereabouts. They have been charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
Harboring and Providing Supplies
Michael White and Kathleen Morris of Santa Rosa, Florida, are accused of sheltering Johnson after the murder. Investigators state that after initially denying her presence, the couple later admitted to harboring Johnson at two properties and supplying her with necessities while she was on the run. Text messages between Morris, White, and Martin Leaverton allegedly show coordination of Johnson's movements, discussions about her belongings, and offers of assistance. Morris and White face charges of accessory to a capital felony after the fact and obstruction.
Authorities in Georgia and Florida continue their search for Isabelle Rose Johnson. The investigation into the alleged murder and the actions of her alleged accomplices remains ongoing.
