Florida Woman Accused of Drugging Men to Steal Luxury Watches
Authorities allege Lynda Mae Crouse, 32, has repeatedly targeted wealthy bachelors, drugging them and making off with high-end timepieces.
A Florida woman is facing charges for allegedly drugging a man she met at a casino and stealing his nearly $100,000 Rolex. Authorities believe this incident is part of a pattern, with the 32-year-old suspect accused of targeting multiple wealthy individuals by seducing them, taking them to a private location, and then stealing their expensive watches after incapacitating them.
Lynda Mae Crouse was arrested on Friday for a theft that occurred on April 12. She reportedly met the victim at the Carousel Club in Hallandale Beach. After exchanging contact information, the man arranged for an Uber to bring Crouse to his residence. According to court documents, the two began drinking before the man went to change his clothes. While he was away, he began to feel unwell and extremely tired. He reported hearing a clapping sound, which he suspected was Crouse opening his Rolex watch box, before losing consciousness.
Upon waking hours later, the man discovered his diamond-studded Rolex Presidential, valued at $98,400, was missing. He later identified Crouse in a police lineup. Authorities stated that Crouse has at least four other open cases in Dade County where victims reported similar experiences of waking up disoriented to find their valuable watches gone after taking her home.
In one of these previous cases, a victim's toxicology report indicated the presence of zolpidem, a sedative known to cause rapid sedation, confusion, and memory impairment, especially when combined with alcohol. Crouse was charged with grand theft, and her bond was set at $2,000, which she has since paid. Information regarding her legal representation was not immediately available, and attempts to reach her for comment were unsuccessful.
