A Florida waitress was arrested on charges of threats and extortion after she allegedly attempted to blackmail her lover for $20,000 upon discovering he was involved with another woman.
Nathalie Rodriguez Gonzalez, 19, reportedly met the victim while working at a restaurant. Their relationship allegedly soured when she learned she was not his only girlfriend. According to police, Rodriguez Gonzalez then began sending the man threatening text messages.
She is accused of demanding $20,000 and threatening to increase the amount to $25,000 if he refused, at which point she would send intimate pictures to his girlfriend and business partner. When the man did not pay, Rodriguez Gonzalez allegedly sent one of the photos to his business partner and asked for his girlfriend's phone number.
Rodriguez Gonzalez then allegedly sent a photo to the victim's girlfriend, stating, "This will genuinely get posted if he doesn’t wire me money BTW." She also reportedly posted a censored version of a photo and other images on TikTok.
Further text messages attributed to Rodriguez Gonzalez included threats such as, "The deportation does not have to happen, but I want my money," and "If he doesn’t wire me the money, his d–k. will get posted followed by your face, his face." She also wrote, "Remember I was tryna scam him, I’m finally getting to it," according to reports.
The victim reported the incidents to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office on August 24. Rodriguez Gonzalez was taken into custody at her home on Friday, where she reportedly gave a full confession. She was held on a $7,500 bond at the Turner Guilford Correctional Center.
