Florida Teen Seriously Injured in Roadside Haircut Stunt Gone Wrong

An 18-year-old Florida resident sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car on a highway median while attempting to film a social media video. The incident occurred Sunday evening in Ocala, Florida.

According to the Ocala Police Department, the teenager and two other young adults were on the median of Southwest College Road, a six-lane highway, to film a haircutting video. During the filming, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided with a Lexus SUV at an intersection, subsequently crashing into the teenager. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

Police stated that neither of the drivers involved in the initial collision showed signs of intoxication. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No other injuries were reported.

A local content creator who arrived at the scene after the incident captured footage of emergency vehicles and interviewed the two individuals who were filming the stunt. One of the young men described hearing tires screeching before seeing the vehicle hit his friend.

"Next thing you know, we're pancakes and flapjacks - flying," he recounted. "It's not even funny."

He added that after the crash, he saw his friend lying on the street before paramedics took him away. He noted that authorities did not provide extensive details beyond naming the hospital where the injured teen was taken.

The content creator also commented on the dangers of filming in such locations, stating that while he himself has been in "crazy places" for content, he does not put himself in harm's way. He expressed concern about young people viewing similar videos and urged for accounts promoting such stunts to be banned.

He described the highway as "very, very busy" and called it "common sense" not to film there, adding that "some people don’t gain common sense till later in life."

As of Monday evening, the injured 18-year-old was reported to be in stable condition, according to the Ocala Police Department.
