A Florida tattoo shop has intensified a controversy by introducing a discount for customers who can prove they are not part of the military or law enforcement. Revival Tattoo Collective, located in Largo, Florida, announced a 20% discount on any tattoo for individuals who can demonstrate they do not serve in these capacities.
The shop, founded by Brady Martinson, had previously drawn criticism for a June 23 social media post stating that active-duty military members and veterans would be denied service. The recent promotional post, shared on a Sunday, read, "I see a lot of shops supporting the military and law enforcement offering deals locally. I’ve got one as well, 20 percent discount on any tattoo if you can prove you’re not law enforcement or military." The post further stated, "This is just giving back to people who aren’t hateful like yourselves, and can see things for what it is."
Comments on the latest post largely condemned the shop's stance. Critics accused the business of hypocrisy and spreading hateful propaganda. Some users shared their own offers of discounts for veterans and first responders.
One commenter wrote, "So the guy that spreads hateful propaganda against military and law enforcement is trying to put on blast and shun those who disagree with him."
Another user stated, "You can’t start sh-- and then play victim. I’m so confused by the amount of hatred and hypocrisy. Anyways… since we are out here clout chasing because you run a sham business and all your artists left… I am a veteran and I own a local handyman business. If anyone needs work done in the Tampa area. I’m offering 20% off for my brothers and sisters in any public or federal service uniform."
Others responded with sarcastic remarks, questioning the logic behind the discount and the shop's actions.
Revival Tattoo Collective did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital. A note in the reporting indicated that a similarly named tattoo shop in Hendersonville, North Carolina, is unrelated to the Florida business and has been mistakenly receiving negative online reviews.
