Two Florida school principals were arrested on driving under the influence (DUI) charges in separate traffic stops that occurred hours apart on July 5, according to body camera footage released by the Clermont Police Department.

Jennifer Jimenez, 41, and Christina Alcalde, 45, were reportedly driving the same white Jeep SUV during the incidents. Jimenez is the principal at Pinecrest Academy Tavares, and Alcalde is the principal at Pinecrest Lakes Academy.

First Traffic Stop

The first stop occurred around 2 a.m. on July 5 when an officer observed the Jeep drifting in and out of its lane and crossing into oncoming traffic. The vehicle also drove over a curb before being pulled over. Police noted the smell of alcohol on Jimenez, who was driving at the time. According to a probable cause affidavit, Jimenez exhibited slow blinking and delayed reactions were observed.

Jimenez was arrested on charges of DUI and refusal to submit to DUI testing. Alcalde, a passenger in the vehicle, reportedly also appeared impaired. She was sent home via a rideshare service, and the Jeep was moved to a nearby parking lot rather than being towed.

Second Traffic Stop

Less than three hours later, around 5 a.m., the Lake County Sheriff's Office received a report that Alcalde might be driving the same Jeep. A deputy conducted a traffic stop after observing the vehicle drifting and braking repeatedly before an intersection.

Christina Alcalde in body camera

Body camera footage shows Alcalde telling the deputy she was "way better" than she had been earlier and expressed concern for Jimenez. The deputy noted that she had appeared "really drunk" during the earlier encounter.

Alcalde was subsequently arrested on DUI-related charges after field sobriety exercises.

Both principals were booked into the Lake County Jail on DUI and refusal-to-submit charges, with bonds set at $2,000 each. Fox News Digital has reached out to Pinecrest Lakes Academy and Pinecrest Academy Tavares for comment.
