A Florida mother and her adult son have been charged with incest following a confession from the son that they had engaged in sexual activity approximately 100 times since he turned 18. The mother, Christina Clemens, 46, and her son, Shane Clemens, 22, are both from Lakeland.
According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, the investigation began when Shane Clemens reported his mother to the police for domestic battery. During the subsequent investigation, Shane Clemens disclosed the alleged incestuous relationship. "So we asked mama, 'Have you been having sex with your son since he was 18?' She says, 'Only about 100 times. I didn’t stutter,'" Sheriff Judd stated in a video address.
Christina Clemens faces charges including one count of incest, one count of living in open adultery, and one count of domestic battery. Jail records indicate she was released on a $6,250 bond on September 4.
Shane Clemens has been charged with one count of incest and one count of domestic violence battery. He is currently being held without bond.
Investigators interviewed Christina Clemens' husband, who described their marriage as “happily married” and stated he was unaware of the relationship between his wife and son. He did note that he had become suspicious due to instances where his wife and son would enter the master bedroom together and lock the door. Sheriff Judd characterized the alleged acts as "nasty."
