Florida Men Rescued From Tree After Boat Capsizes in Alligator-Infested Waters

The incident occurred on Tuesday at Morris Bridge Park on the Hillsborough River. The men were traveling downstream when their boat overturned and floated away, forcing them to seek refuge on a nearby tree.
Video footage released by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office captured the moment deputies and a Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officer arrived to assist the stranded individuals. The two men were seen carefully climbing off the tree limb and into the rescue boat.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the men were safely rescued and did not sustain any injuries. The swampy waters in the area are known to be inhabited by alligators, water snakes, and other wildlife.
Morris Bridge Park is recognized by the Hillsborough County Florida government website for its abundant wildlife, with frequent sightings of alligators, turtles, water snakes, frogs, and wading birds. The website has previously advised residents and visitors to remain aware of their surroundings near natural bodies of water and to assume alligators could be present.
