A Florida man was arrested Tuesday evening after allegedly pulling a gun on a woman he met on Tinder and ramming her car when she attempted to leave his home. David O’Brien, 67, faces charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery.

According to an arrest report, O’Brien met the woman on Tinder on July 12, expressing interest in finding a "sugar baby." The pair agreed to meet for a date, during which O'Brien allegedly offered the woman $1,000, stating he would buy her dinner and "love to shop for you."

The woman arrived with three friends, and the evening began with O'Brien giving her $200 and taking her to a lingerie store. He reportedly gave her another $600 at a restaurant.

Things took a turn when O'Brien brought the woman back to his home in The Villages, a retirement community. The woman told authorities she began to feel uncomfortable and asked her friends to pick her up. O'Brien then allegedly demanded the money back, claiming it was not part of their agreement. When the woman refused and left, O'Brien allegedly pursued her and her friends in his Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Reports indicate O'Brien rammed their vehicle, causing it to strike a pole. He then allegedly hit the disabled vehicle a second time. While the woman and two friends escaped, one male friend in the car was reportedly confronted by O'Brien.

O'Brien allegedly pointed a .22 semi-automatic Ruger at the man and threatened to kill him if he did not get on the ground. The man reported that he was able to escape when O'Brien was distracted. O'Brien then briefly searched for the other victims before law enforcement, responding to multiple 911 calls about the crash, located him in his truck with the firearm.

O'Brien was booked into the Sumter County jail and later released on a $90,000 bond.
