A Mega Millions ticket holder in Florida has won the $800 million jackpot, the lottery game's largest prize of 2026. The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night were 34, 48, 49, 59, 70, and the Mega Ball 12.
The prize offers a lump sum cash option of $344.2 million. The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 290,472,336.
This win ranks as the tenth largest prize in the game's history. The most recent jackpot winner before this was on March 17, when a prize of $60 million was won in Van Wert, Ohio. A week prior, on March 10, an anonymous player in Illinois won $536 million. Both of those winners opted for the cash payout.
Tuesday's jackpot is the first Mega Millions grand prize claimed in Florida since August 2023. In that month, the state saw two winning tickets sold within three drawings. The August 8 drawing yielded a $1.62 billion prize, the largest Mega Millions jackpot on record, claimed by Saltines Holdings, LLC, in Neptune Beach, Florida. A subsequent drawing on August 15 offered a $39 million pot, which went unclaimed.
In addition to the grand prize winner, two other tickets matched five white balls to win the second-tier prize. One ticket sold in New York won $3 million with a 3x multiplier, while a ticket in Illinois secured $5 million with a 5x multiplier. The locations where these tickets were purchased were not immediately specified.
