A Florida man with multiple felony convictions was removed from a courtroom Thursday after he launched into an expletive-filled outburst following his conviction for kidnapping, raping, and attempting to murder a DoorDash driver. Joseph Killins, 41, was found guilty by a jury in Hillsborough County Court in Tampa, Florida, on charges of attempted murder, armed kidnapping, and sexual battery.

The verdict came after a jury deliberated for approximately 20 minutes. As the verdict was read, Killins began yelling, "That b—h lying, man! I didn’t do no s–t like that to that motherf–ker," according to WFLA video.

Killins then jumped out of his seat, prompting several officers to restrain him. Judge Lyann Goudie ordered the courtroom cleared of the jury before addressing Killins, who was then ordered to a holding cell.

The charges stem from an incident on April 18, 2023, when Killins attacked a female DoorDash driver making a delivery in a Tampa apartment complex parking lot. Surveillance footage from the complex captured the confrontation. According to testimony, Killins held the victim at gunpoint and forced her to drive him around the parking lot before sexually assaulting her.

Killins testified in his own defense, claiming he was in a relationship with the victim and offering a disputed account of the events. He suggested the victim performed oral sex on him consensually after he had fallen asleep in the car. During cross-examination by Assistant State Attorney Jessica Couvertier, Killins admitted to using his hand to force the victim's head down onto him.

During the assault, the victim was on the phone with her girlfriend, who, along with her twin sister, came to the car's location. Killins then fired his gun, striking the girlfriend's sister in the head. The victim's girlfriend reportedly confronted Killins with a baseball bat.

The following day, Killins attacked another woman in the same parking lot and stole her backpack. He was subsequently convicted of robbery in that second case.

Killins has nine prior felony convictions, including charges for drug possession and burglary. He was sentenced to four life terms in prison, according to the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s office. State Attorney Suzy Lopez commended the victims for their courage in coming forward.
