A Fort Pierce, Florida, couple was arrested Saturday night on charges of discharging a firearm in a residential area and using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol. The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of individuals actively discharging firearms around 9 p.m. and found Tiffany Rose Lindo, 25, and Jacob Roibert Mills, 25, allegedly firing a shotgun, rifle, and handguns. Authorities stated the pair had been consuming alcohol before and during the incident.
Deputies arrived to find the couple allegedly engaged in shooting weapons, with evidence suggesting alcohol consumption played a role. The Sheriff's Office emphasized the dangers of combining firearms and alcohol, issuing a statement on Facebook that read, "Firearms and alcohol. Two things that should never be part of the same plan." They advised the public, "If you are drinking, do not handle or discharge a firearm. Put the firearm away, leave it alone, and make the responsible choice."
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Law enforcement shared images of the weapons allegedly used, which included an AR-style semi-automatic rifle, a shotgun, and semi-automatic handguns. Photographs of Lindo and Mills in the back of a police car following their arrest were also released.
