British girl group FLO is aiming for widespread success with their second album, "Therapy at the Club." The album delves into the complexities of love, with lyrics inspired by nights out, addressing themes of heartbreak, healing, and the support found in friendships.
The title track's lyrics, "So go ahead and kiss who you wanna / whatever the trauma / If you ever fall out of love / try therapy at the club," highlight the role friends play during difficult times. Stella Quaresma of FLO explained that the song captures the sentiment of friends encouraging each other to go out and momentarily forget their troubles.
While R&B remains a core element of their sound, FLO has also expanded their musical palette to incorporate more pop elements on this album. Quaresma described the process of making "Therapy at the Club" as a "crash course" in music, noting the enjoyment of blending genres and creating larger pop songs. The album features collaborations, including the song "Remedied," co-written by Grammy-winning songwriter Amy Allen, who has previously worked with artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Tate McRae.
For their debut album, "Access All Areas," the trio wrote songs together. However, for "Therapy at the Club," they adopted a different approach, writing separately before sharing and developing ideas with each other.
