Flights Briefly Halted at Trump Airport After Suspicious Phone Call
Palm Beach international airport experienced temporary delays as law enforcement investigated an incident hours before President Trump's scheduled departure.
President Donald J. Trump International Airport in Florida briefly slowed flight operations on Sunday afternoon due to an investigation into a "suspicious phone call." The measure was taken as a precaution by law enforcement.
Palm Beach Sheriff's Office (PBSO) announced the investigation began around 1:23 p.m. Eastern Time. "Law enforcement is investigating a suspicious phone call. As a precaution, PBSO has slowed traffic entering the terminal," officials stated on the social media platform X. The specific nature of the phone call has not been disclosed.
Airport officials advised travelers to "see something, say something" and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement, thanking them for their patience and cooperation. Travelers were informed that delays might occur.
Approximately an hour and a half later, around 2:30 p.m., airport officials reported that roadways to the terminal had reopened and that "airport operations have returned to normal." They reiterated their thanks for public patience and understanding.
The safety scare occurred just hours before President Trump was scheduled to depart from the airport. Airport law enforcement confirmed to the Daily Mail that they were investigating an incident around the airport but provided no further details.
