Flight Attendants Sickened by Mysterious Odor on Los Angeles to Honolulu Flight

Seven Alaska Airlines flight attendants reported feeling unwell due to an unidentified odor aboard a packed flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu. The incident prompted a response from multiple state and city agencies at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu on Thursday afternoon.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, along with American Medical Response, evaluated the affected flight attendants on scene. They reported experiencing symptoms such as nausea and headaches. All seven declined transport to an emergency room for further treatment.

The Airbus A330 aircraft, operating as Alaska Airlines Flight 803 but flown by Hawaiian Airlines, carried 252 passengers. None of the passengers reported any ill effects from the odor, the origin of which remains undetermined.

Alaska Airlines stated that the aircraft underwent a thorough inspection before its subsequent flight. Hawaiian Airlines issued a statement emphasizing that safety is a priority and thanking the medical professionals for their response. The airline also confirmed that no passengers required medical attention.

This event follows a similar incident earlier in September, where a Delta flight bound for Los Angeles from New York was forced to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque due to a smoky odor in the cabin. That flight carried several notable passengers, including actors Andrew Garfield and Nick Robinson.
