Flight Attendant Found Dead in Texas Creek a Year After Disappearance; Roommate Arrested
Rana Nofal Soluri's body was discovered in Brushy Creek, leading to the arrest of Dennis William Day, who allegedly confessed to her murder.

The remains of Rana Nofal Soluri, a 47-year-old Envoy Air flight attendant, were discovered in a Texas creek more than a year after she went missing, authorities have confirmed. Her roommate, 67-year-old Dennis William Day, has been arrested and allegedly confessed to killing her.
An unidentified fisherman found Soluri's body on the bank of Brushy Creek on June [REDACTED], approximately one year after she was last seen alive in March 2025. The body was transported to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification, where it was positively identified as Soluri two weeks prior to the report on Friday. Police had previously searched the creek for her remains.
Soluri's daughter, Lulu, is organizing her mother's burial in Seattle and plans to travel to Texas for an October court date where she will read a victim impact statement. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist with burial expenses and Lulu's travel.
Soluri had been recovering from minor surgery and was out of work in the period leading up to her disappearance. Her co-workers reported her missing in June 2025 when she failed to report for work and could not be reached. Investigators identified Day, a longtime friend and roommate, as a suspect.
During an initial welfare check on June 10, Day told police he had not seen Soluri for three months. Later that month, he consented to a search of his property. Surveillance footage from March 21, 2025, showed Day dragging what appeared to be a lifeless body from his home into the backyard, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Day subsequently confessed to police, stating that he and Soluri had argued. He claimed that when Soluri threatened to call 911 after filming him acting irate, he panicked and strangled her with his bare hands on the kitchen floor. He admitted to placing her body in a trash bin and dumping it off a bridge in Bowie, and discarding her cellphone in a nearby river.
Joni Thomas, 63, has also been charged with tampering with evidence for allegedly assisting Day in disposing of Soluri's body. Day was indicted on a murder charge. Both Day and Thomas's cases are pending.
