Legendary rapper Flavor Flav is encouraging fans to take a "paid holiday" on Thursday to watch Game 6 of the WNBA Finals, as the Golden State Valkyries stand on the verge of securing their first championship. Game 6 is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. PT.

Flavor Flav shared an unofficial absence form on social media, designed to excuse fans from work for the "entire day on Thursday." The form states, "There is a very important WNBA Women’s Finals game between the Atlanta Dream and the Golden State Valkyries, tipping off at 12:30 PM EST." He signed off as "The World’s Greatest Hype Man. Official Supporter of Women’s Sports."

His message echoes a sentiment previously expressed by Valkyries player Veronica Burton, who told fans after their Game 5 victory, "Call in sick. I recommend it." Fellow player Kiah captions a related social media post with, "Yeah, y’all know how to fake a cough."

Flavor Flav's involvement comes as the WNBA Finals draw celebrity attention. Bay Area native Zendaya was seen in attendance at Game 5, cheering on the Valkyries. Her presence coincided with the team's 64-55 victory over the Dream, giving Golden State a 3-2 series lead.

The Golden State Valkyries, in their second WNBA season, have seen success attributed to coach Natalie Nakase. If the team clinches the championship on Thursday, any potential celebration might be moved to the Dream's practice court. This is due to a scheduling conflict, as the Atlanta Hawks are set to host the Cleveland Cavaliers at 5 p.m. EST on the main court.

Zendaya sits in the stands holding two thunder sticks at Game Five of the WNBA Finals.

Gabby Williams and Aminata Gueye embrace on the basketball court.

Basketball players Tiffany Hayes and Allisha Gray react on the court amid cheering fans.
