A five-year-old boy diagnosed with autism, Edward Hall, was found deceased in a pond in Katy, Texas, on Monday, July 20, 2026, after he was reported missing the previous morning. Authorities said Hall, who was non-verbal, was last seen on Sunday, July 19, near his home in the 3800 block of Ryans Rock Court.
Volunteers with Texas EquuSearch Search & Recovery discovered Hall's body around 1:43 a.m. Monday in a pond located within the Park at Tamarron. The sheriff's office noted that the pond had no protective measures or gating and was easily accessible.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office issued an AMBER Alert on Sunday evening after Hall's family reported him missing around 10:30 a.m. when they could not find him in the house. The sheriff's office deployed multiple resources for the search, including its Air Support Unit, Dive Team, and two drones. Investigators also conducted door-to-door canvasses.
Approximately 200 residents assisted in the search, utilizing drones, ATVs, and other equipment. Some community members reportedly played music from "Little Einsteins" and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse," shows Hall enjoyed, in hopes of attracting his attention.
Neighbors expressed concern, with one noting that children with autism can have difficulty recognizing danger and may be drawn to water. Another resident stated the community's commitment to the search effort.
Investigators reported no signs of foul play, and Hall's family has been notified. The investigation into the circumstances of his disappearance is ongoing. The sheriff's office extended its condolences to Hall's family and loved ones.
