San Francisco law enforcement has arrested five men, including a prominent real estate investor, in a three-day undercover operation aimed at apprehending individuals suspected of attempting to meet children online for sexual activity. The operation, conducted by the San Francisco Sheriff's Office, utilized undercover deputies who posed as minors or pimps on social media and online gaming platforms.

According to authorities, suspects engaged in online conversations with the undercover officers before arranging in-person meetings. These meetings were directed to a San Francisco residence where deputies were positioned to make arrests upon arrival. Drone footage released by the Sheriff's Office captured one suspect being tackled by deputies as he attempted to flee the scene.

The individuals arrested were identified as Reuben Teague, 50, a California real estate investor; Jorge Nieto, 27, of San Francisco; Michael Pauter, 43, of San Mateo; Jhonny Rodriguez Diaz, 37, of Redwood City; and Romuald Santiago, 32, of Daly City.

Sheriff Paul Miyamoto stated that the suspects came from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing that there is no single profile for individuals who commit such crimes. He added, "You never truly know who is behind a computer screen."

Each of the five men faces felony charges for meeting a minor for lewd purposes and misdemeanor charges for arranging such meetings. All defendants have entered pleas of not guilty to the felony charges and remain in custody awaiting trial. San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins indicated that the court deemed the individuals too dangerous to be released into the community, citing a substantial public safety risk to children.
