Four children and a man are in critical condition with life-changing injuries following a truck explosion outside a pub in Yorkshire.

The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday at the Hare and Hounds Inn on Liley Lane in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle on fire.

Footage from the scene shows the charred wreckage of a tipper truck. Five victims were reportedly found inside the vehicle with serious burns. An eight-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition. Three other children and a 43-year-old man also sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment in the hospital.

Eyewitness accounts described a loud bang followed by the vehicle catching fire. A local farmer reportedly assisted the injured on a quad bike shortly after the explosion.

West Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation into the blaze. However, authorities do not suspect foul play, stating that the fire is not being treated as suspicious and was not deliberately started. A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed that multiple ambulance resources, including an air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene, and five patients were transported to the hospital.
