Five Found Dead in Suspected Murder-Suicide in Georgia
Authorities are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after five people were found dead from gunshot wounds in a remote Georgia home, marking the state's third mass shooting in three weeks.
Five people were found dead in a Douglas, Georgia, home late Friday night in what authorities are investigating as a suspected murder-suicide. The incident occurred around 11:09 p.m. when law enforcement responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on Robin Lane, located in a remote area south of the Touchton Woods neighborhood.
According to the Douglas Police Department, one victim sustained a self-inflicted wound. All five individuals, whose identities have not yet been released, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The home is situated less than 80 miles north of the Florida border.
This incident marks the third mass shooting in Georgia within a three-week period. Earlier in October, a shooting in Vienna left two people dead and injured 35 others. In late September, an 18th birthday celebration in Macon resulted in a shootout that injured 12 people.
The Daily Mail has reached out to the Douglas Police Department for further comment. Additional details are not yet available as the story is developing.
