Fitzpatrick Trolls Talib After NFL Feud Over Bo Nix Comments
The former NFL quarterback humorously responded to Aqib Talib's criticism of his career by duetting a video of the ex-cornerback.
Ryan Fitzpatrick has playfully responded to former NFL cornerback Aqib Talib after the two engaged in a public feud over comments Fitzpatrick made about Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix.
The dispute began when Fitzpatrick, a Thursday Night Football host, described Nix's play as "disrespectful" to the quarterback position following the Broncos' overtime victory against the Seahawks. Nix completed 17 of 27 passes for 107 yards, with the Broncos' offense struggling significantly in the latter stages of the game.
Talib, a former Broncos and Rams cornerback, defended Nix, appearing on the show "Gridiron" to criticize Fitzpatrick's assessment and challenge his own NFL career. Talib questioned Fitzpatrick's tenure, noting his play for nine different teams over 17 seasons and his record with the Buffalo Bills.
Fitzpatrick then posted a video on X, formerly Twitter, appearing to show him addressing Talib. The caption read, "Just got off the phone with Aqib Talib…happy we were able to work thru our differences." The video, however, quickly transitioned to Talib's original criticism.
In the duet, Fitzpatrick humorously reacted to Talib's points. When Talib called his play "disrespectful" because "you suck. Period," Fitzpatrick appeared to question, "Me?" Later, when Talib highlighted his 19-35 record as a starter in Buffalo, Fitzpatrick responded with mock surprise, "We won 19 games when I was in Buffalo?"
Talib also brought up Fitzpatrick's overall career statistics and stated he never reached the playoffs. Fitzpatrick countered by referencing the 2015 season with the New York Jets, where a Week 17 game against the Bills would have secured a playoff berth, arguing that this constituted a "sniff" of the postseason.
Fitzpatrick's video highlighted his ability to engage with criticism in a lighthearted manner, turning Talib's points into a comedic exchange rather than a continued dispute.
