A New York City firefighter was captured on video confronting a pro-Palestinian demonstrator dressed in an Elmo costume near the 9/11 Memorial on the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks. The incident occurred on Friday.

Video posted to X by Turning Point USA shows the man, identified as a firefighter, yelling at the costumed individual who was holding a Palestinian flag. The firefighter called the demonstrator "anti-American" and told them to "go back to Palestine."

"We don’t want you here," the man shouted. He also appeared to reference public figures, suggesting they also leave the country.

It is unclear if the firefighter was currently employed by the FDNY or was a retired member. Fox News Digital reached out to the FDNY for comment.

In the background of the video, another voice could be heard saying, "The Jews are committing a genocide." It was not clear if this statement came from the protesters or others present.

The anniversary ceremonies on Friday honored the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania. Attendees at the Ground Zero ceremony included all living former presidents, Vice President JD Vance, Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and Governor Kathy Hochul. Former President Donald Trump delivered a keynote speech at the Pentagon ceremony.
