Emergency fire blankets are highlighted as a vital, though often overlooked, home safety item that can help manage fires. The Mart Cobra Emergency Fire Blanket for Home & Kitchen, available on Amazon, has garnered over 5,800 positive reviews, with many customers awarding it five stars.
These blankets are constructed from 100% fiberglass flame-retardant fabric, intended to stop the spread of grease, electrical, and liquid fires. The method of use involves throwing the blanket over a flame to extinguish it.
The product is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1,076°F. It can be directly applied to a fire or draped over individuals or pets to smother flames. The material is described as safe for all users and leaves no residue, eliminating the need for post-fire cleanup.
Designed for portability, the blanket is stored in a compact pouch, making it small enough to be included in an emergency kit. Unlike traditional fire extinguishers, it is lightweight and does not have an expiration date.
