Fire Island Home Destroyed in Blaze After Barbecue
A beachfront residence in Fire Island Pines was reduced to rubble by a fast-moving fire that officials say began during a barbecue.

A large fire consumed a beachfront home in the Fire Island Pines section of Long Island on Wednesday afternoon. The blaze broke out during a barbecue at the sprawling residence, according to WABC.
While people were reportedly inside the home when the fire started, no injuries have been reported. Video footage captured the property engulfed in flames, but the fire did not appear to spread to neighboring homes. Multiple fire departments responded to the scene to combat the out-of-control blaze.
Officials have determined that the property, now reduced to a pile of rubble, is a total loss.
