Fighter Jet Intercepts Aircraft Over Camp David Airspace During Trump Visit

A North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) fighter jet intercepted an aircraft that had entered restricted airspace over Camp David on Saturday, the same weekend President Donald Trump was visiting the presidential retreat in Maryland. The incident briefly heightened security awareness.
The First Air Force, a component of US Northern Command, announced the airspace violation via X, formerly Twitter. The command stated that NORAD fighter aircraft intercepted the plane, which led to the deployment of flares.
Pilots were advised to check Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) for current Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) information before takeoff. The unauthorized flight occurred while President Trump was at the Catoctin Mountains retreat, where he arrived on Friday and was scheduled to remain through the weekend.
