Fiancé of NBC Reporter Killed in Helicopter Crash Shares Heartbreaking Tribute
Robert Barrientos honors Eliana Moreno a week after the crash that claimed her life and two others.
The fiancé of Eliana Moreno, the NBC Los Angeles reporter killed in a helicopter crash last week, has shared a touching tribute to her memory.
Robert Barrientos posted on Instagram a week after the incident that claimed Moreno's life, pilot George Marciniw's, and pedestrian Edy Gutierrez Mejia's. The NBC NewsChopper 4 crashed in Chatsworth, California, while covering an SUV-LA Metro bus collision.
“I know I’ve been truly blessed to have experienced the love I shared with her in this life. Eliana was simply amazing — loving, kind, compassionate, giving, intelligent and extremely silly,” Barrientos wrote in his tribute.
He recalled the couple's future plans, including a dream to retire in Tennessee and care for animals. "Although those dreams are over, her memory will live in my heart and soul forever,” he added.
Barrientos also expressed gratitude for the support he has received from his and Moreno's families during this difficult time. “I want to thank my sons Andrew and Brian, my family, Eliana’s father and the rest of her family for showing me so much love during the hardest time of my life,” he stated.
Moreno, a former radio anchor from Kankakee, Illinois, was a reporter for NBC Los Angeles.
