Festivalgoer Paralyzed After Man Falls From Tree Onto Her During Concert
A freak accident at the Louder Than Life Festival in Kentucky left a Tennessee woman with a severed spinal cord.
A festivalgoer has been left paralyzed from the waist down after a man fell from a tree and landed on her during a concert in Kentucky over the weekend. Jamie Ulshoffer suffered a severed spinal cord during the incident at the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville on Friday.
Her husband, Conor, told WHAS11 that the man fell on Ulshoffer, who has no memory of the event, while the band Knocked Loose was performing. "I turn around and see her on her back... Then everyone said some dude fell out of a tree," Conor recounted.
Authorities transported Ulshoffer to the University of Louisville Hospital, where she is continuing her recovery. She expressed uncertainty about her ability to walk again, telling WHAS11, "I can’t feel my feet. Can’t do anything that I used to."
The festival’s production team stated they could not comment on the incident due to patient privacy. It remains unclear if any criminal charges have been filed against the man who fell.
Ulshoffer, a native of Tennessee, is currently in Kentucky while she recovers. A fundraiser has been established to support her. "I'm not going to be able to play with the kids," she said, expressing concern for her children back home.
