Singer Fergie and actor Josh Duhamel reunited virtually to celebrate their son Axl's 13th birthday on Saturday, sharing a collection of photos and heartfelt messages on Instagram.
Duhamel, 53, marked the occasion with a post calling his son, Axl Jack, a "kind, compassionate and thoughtful kid." The actor expressed surprise at how quickly time had passed, noting, "Holy crap that went fast." His tribute included a mix of throwback pictures and more recent snapshots of the birthday boy.
Fergie, 51, also took to Instagram to honor her son. "13. Wow, my teenager," she wrote, adding that she felt "the world is shifting beneath us." The former Black Eyed Peas member shared her joy in watching Axl grow into a "kind, silly, and cool dude." Her carousel of images featured both older and newer moments, including Axl smiling for a selfie with his mother and showcasing a school project.
Axl was born in August 2013. Fergie and Duhamel, who were married for eight years, announced their separation in 2017 and finalized their divorce in November 2019. Despite their split, the pair maintain a cordial co-parenting relationship.
Duhamel has since married Audra Mari, and they have welcomed two children: Shepherd, 2, and Rocca, 3. Fergie has publicly shown support for Duhamel's growing family, including by "liking" the announcement of Rocca's birth and leaving heart emojis on social media.
Duhamel has spoken positively about his relationship with Fergie and Mari, stating in a March appearance on "The Skinny Confidential" podcast that "Fergie and I have a great relationship. She and Audra have a great relationship." He reiterated this sentiment in an interview with "The Megyn Kelly Show," emphasizing that "everybody is just copacetic" and that Fergie is a "great mom."
