Feds Accuse 10 Foreign Nationals of Voter Fraud in Minnesota
Justice Department announces charges for illegal registration and voting in federal and local elections.
The Justice Department announced charges Wednesday against 10 foreign nationals accused of illegally registering to vote and casting ballots in Minnesota. Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that individuals from Brazil, Ghana, and Liberia allegedly falsely claimed U.S. citizenship to vote in the 2022 midterm elections, the 2024 elections, and some primary elections held earlier this year.
"Voter fraud erodes the public's trust in our electoral system, and it's vital to our democratic process that we do everything that we can to restore that trust," Blanche said. "The most basic way the Department of Justice can accomplish this restoration of trust is by working to make sure the only people voting in an election in the United States are American citizens who are eligible to vote."
According to the notes, over 90 people have been charged with some form of voter fraud since President Trump returned to the White House. The Biden administration brought 13 similar cases during its four-year term. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin indicated that his agency is investigating more than 1,600 voting fraud cases in total.
