The FBI and Texas police are investigating multiple players within the Austin FC youth academy over allegations of sexual abuse. Both Austin FC and Major League Soccer (MLS) have confirmed the existence of these investigations.

The Austin FC Academy stated that it became aware of the allegations in December 2025. "After learning of these issues from concerned Academy families, Austin FC Academy took immediate action," the statement read. The club reported it immediately notified MLS, the U.S. Center for SafeSport, and local law enforcement.

The age group involved had all activities suspended while the investigation proceeded. The FBI has reportedly visited the club's training facility to interview witnesses. According to the club, multiple academy players have faced disciplinary action as a result of the investigation's findings, though no staff members have been punished.

Austin FC affirmed its full cooperation with law enforcement throughout the ongoing investigation. "Throughout this process, Austin FC Academy and MLS took decisive actions guided by our unwavering commitment to the health, safety and well-being of our youth players and will continue to do so," the club stated.

MLS released its own statement, emphasizing its serious stance on player safety. "MLS takes matters of player safety and well-being extremely seriously," the league said. "Throughout the process, MLS and Austin FC have approached this matter from a trauma-informed perspective, prioritizing the safety and well-being of the young people involved, protecting their privacy, minimizing the risk of further harm, and coordinating carefully with law enforcement and other appropriate authorities."

The Austin FC academy comprises around 100 players across five teams, ranging from under-13 to under-18. These players are recruited nationally and often reside with host families. The academy teams compete in MLS Next, which also provides educational support for players. The FBI has not confirmed or denied the story, and Austin police declined to provide further details due to the involvement of juveniles and the ongoing nature of the case.
